What's Happening at Pheasant Park and Sister Bay

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATIONS

The 4th of July is less than one week away, that also means we’re more than halfway through 2010, yikes!

We have ONE Two Bedroom Suite open for the nights of July 3rd & 4th & also ONE Three Bedroom Suite open for the nights of the 2nd & 3rd, otherwise we are booked up, so we’d like to say Thank You to those great guests who love to stay with us over Independence Weekend!

Here is the line up for some great 4th of July activities & Fireworks, and if you’re staying on the 3rd & 4th you can catch some festivites two nights in a row:

Saturday, July 3rd

Egg Harbor kicks off the weekend at 2pm with some great food & refreshments in the Harborview Park on Hwy. 42. At 5pm the Mango Brothers will be playing live music before the Fireworks end the evening at Dusk. Be sure to get there early to find parking & get a great view!

Sunday, July 4th

Egg Harbor 1:30 pm will be the Annual Independence Day Parade downtown on Hwy 42, afterwards at 2:30 there will be the FIRST Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest at the Harborview Park. How many hot dogs can you eat in 10 minutes?? Call 920-868-2724 to register.

Baileys Harbor 10am begins the Parade downtown. All day long there will be inflatables for the kids, arts and crafts, great food, drink and live entertainment until Dusk when the Fireworks show begins.

Fish Creek Fireworks at Dusk at Clark Park downtown.

Ellison Bay The fun begins at 5pm with live music & food, followed by the boat regatta at 6:30pm and fireworks at dusk.

STAY FIT WHILE ON VACATION!

The Door County YMCA has some great Summer activities for kids & adults to partake in while in Sister Bay.

A bonus is, Pheasant Park Resort is located just a few blocks away from both locations!

Youth activities take place at the Sister Bay Sports Complex right across the street from us. Tuesdays- July 6-August 17 or Thursdays- July 8-August 19 in the afternoons, there will be Tennis Lessons. Mondays- July 5-August 16 or Saturdays- July 10-August 21 is Fun in the Sun Camp in the mornings. Fun in the Sun Camp enables kids to play a variety of sports while building basic skills, create craft projects and engage in team building challenges and games along with a healthy snack.

For Village of Sister Bay Residents or Lodging Guests that are a YMCA Member, all activities are FREE!!! For Village of Sister Bay Residents or Lodging Guests that not YMCA Members, all activities are $8. Other Visitors are $15.

Adult Activities are located at the Waterfront Park Downtown and at the Sister Bay Viillage Hall, both are across the street from Al Johnson’s.

Mondays- July 5-August 16 and Wednesdays- July 7-August 18 in the morning there will be Beachfront Yoga & Zumba. Tuesdays- July 6-August 17 at 7:00pm there will be Sunset Tai Chi classes.

For Village of Sister Bay Residents or Lodging Guests that are YMCA Members, all activities are FREE!! For Village of Sister Bay Residents or Lodging Guests that are not YMCA Members, all activites are $5. Other Visitors are $10.

46TH ANNUAL FYR BAL FESTIVAL, JUNE 18-20

If you haven’t ever enjoyed Ephraim’s famed Fyr Bal Festival, you are missing out on one of Door County’s oldest & most loved traditions!

Next weekend Ephraim will be welcoming Summer with their 46th Annual Fyr Bal Festival, the festival re-creates traditions of early Norwegians celebrating Midsummer’s Eve. There will be tons of food, local artists, musical entertainment and family activities along Ephraim’s beautiful shorelines. Parking may be a problem, but once there kick back, relax, shop, enjoy or even take a Trolley Ride to visit the many historical landmarks.

A definate MUST of Fyr Bal weekend is the evening bonfires, which represent the burning of the “Winter Witch” and ushers in the long days of summer. Fireworks complete Saturday night’s events.

Arts & Crafts Show, Henna Art Tattoo’s, Food Tents, Ephraim Yacht Club’s Fyr Bal Regatta, Cake Walk, Trolley Rides, 3rd Annual Fur Ball Pet Parade, Kids Crafts, Fish Boil, Live Music (local & traditional Scandinavian music) and the Annual Chieftain Ceremony with bonfire lighting, traditional Scandinavian dancers & singers and Fireworks
