There are some great activities going on in Door County during March: Door County Wine & Cheese Gala, St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Haydn’s “The Seven Last Words”.
The Door County Wine & Cheese Gala takes place March 12th at the Stone Harbor Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay from 5-8pm. Local Wineries will showcase their wines, along with local cherry products, soda and craft beer, served with specialty cheese, crackers, fruit & nuts. Throughout the evening there will also be music, silent auctions & door prizes. $15 per person in advance, $20 at the door. Some of the local wineries showcasing their wines will be: Door Peninsula Winery, Orchard Country Winery, Parallel 44 Winery, Simon Creek Vineyard & Winery, and Von Stiehl Winery.
On March 13th there is the annual St. Patricks Day Parade in down town Sturgeon Bay starting at 11 am. Bring the kids out to enjoy the Green fun!
And for the musical lovers, on March 30th at Stella Maris Catholic Church in Sister Bay, Midsummer’s Music Festival’s string quartet will be presenting the 7th annual presentation of Haydn’s “The Seven Last Words of Christ”. Featuring violinists David Perry and Hyundil Roh, violist Sally Chisolm, and cellist Walter Preucil. This year, seven of Door County’s finest poets will present their poems based on each of the seven words. Suggested $10 goodwill offering per adult.
