Door County Celebrates!!!

Yes, Door County celebrates the 4th…who doesn’t? But, we now have another event to celebrate…you already know about the dedication of the new Waterfront in Sister Bay on July 17th, but did you know about the new visitor center at Newport State Park???  On July 26th why not re-visit or visit this wonderful state park.  The new Visitor center will have a library, the large Hotz Wilderness Room and the Naturalist/Newport Wilderness Society office. Why not check it out on the 26th and join in the celebration? There are several new shops that look very interesting. On highway 57, Dragonfly, then further down is a new gallery K. Allen. I have not stopped in to either but they look so inviting I may just have to take a long lunch. Speaking of which, there is a new French bakery/cafe right on Bayshore Drive about 4 blocks or so from Pheasant Park. Now, this is not for those of you on Atkins, Weight Watchers or any other diet plan…this is the real thing. Croissants so flakey and buttery, Napoleans dripping with cream, and too many others to mention without torturing myself. La Patisserie serves lunch as well featuring sandwiches, salads and specials. Take a few moments from your busy day and stroll over…its worth the walk! Again, La Patisserie, 920-421-0262 open 8am - 6 pm daily. During the weekend of July 17th, Sister Bay Advancement Association (SBAA) is having its “Showcase”. Coupons for various discounts at the featured shops throughout Sister Bay will be handed out to our guests. So, if you like to “shop ’til you drop”, plan on visiting during that weekend. We have a few openings that we’d love to fill with shoppers!  Celebrate shopping, eating and just living in Door County at Pheasant Park Resort. Come celebrate at the Park!
