When you wake up on Thursday morning, January 1st, why not try something crazy and fun & join the Jacksonport Polar Bear Club for their 23rd annual plunge at Noon!

A new twist has been added to the festivities this year, The Fire Departments of Door County will pitch in to provide an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast for the public at the Jacksonport Town Hall.

The Great Pancake Show from 8:30 to 11:30 am will be a huge hit with their pancake antics. Profits will benefit all participating Fire Departments.

If you’re not brave enough to take the plunge, fill up with yummy food & help out a good cause!

Winter fun in Door County

Hop on the Door County Trolley Winter Wonderland Tour
Saturdays (December-March) tour/taste a winery, enjoy a sleigh ride, and then a fireside lunch at the romantic White Gull Inn. Trolley pick up is at Carlsville Markets in Carlsville @ 10am & finishes around 3pm. $54 per person 920-868-1100

Tag along on a Guided Snowshoe Tour at the Ridges Sanctuary
Fridays (January-February) located in Baileys Harbor. The tour begins at 1pm and meets at the Upper Range Light on 8270 HWY 57. Bring your own snowshoes or call ahead to reserve a loaner pair. 920-839-2802
 
 
 

 

Join the Candlelight Ride at Kurtz Corral Riding Stables

Take the day and explore Peninsula State Park
The fun just doesn’t end! Go snowshoeing, skiing, hiking, site seeing, snowmobiling, tobogganing down Hill 17 or climb Eagle Tower. It’s quite an experience. Don’t have equipment? Show off your moves at the Theresa Highlander Community Ice Rink

Winter fun in Sister Bay

Time to dust off your skis, sleds, snowshoes & snowmobiles! The snow just keeps falling in Sister Bay & for those avid Snow Lover’s it is the perfect time to come & stay with us at Pheasant Park.

 

Peninsula State Park has some great Winter Activities for the whole family: Cross Country Skiing, Snowshoeing & Hiking, Snowmobiling, Ice Fishing and Sledding or Tubing. Don’t worry about not having the right equipment for your day of winter fun, there are local businesses who are more than happy to rent winter equipment.

Nor Door Sport & Cyclery, Nelson’s Shopping Center and Bay Shore Outdoor Store are all available to help with your winter equipment needs.  

A favorite for all locals is Sledding on Hill 17, besides the fun ride down, at the top of the hill is a spectacular view of Ephraim’s Eagle Harbor. 

Also, don’t forget that Pheasant Park is near a snowmobile path that will lead to anywhere in Door County!
